Creativity under pressure produces some of the most exciting ideas.

Run over nine weeks, as a participant in Entre’s iconic Enterprise Challenge, you’ll be immersed in workshops, work on your own world-changing idea, and even be paired with mentors to build your capabilities and skills in business. Open to students of any background, this is a great way to build real world skills while having loads of fun as you go through the process of starting a business. And, did we forget to mention? There’s over $50k worth of prizes up for grabs.

Napkin Challenge

What if you could get paid for your ideas? Napkin Challenge offers you just that, plus it’s the best way to get a head start for your Enterprise Challenge application.


No matter the idea, if it’s a potential business, cause, or project, jot it down, sketch it out and submit your entry. You can submit as many ideas as you like via the napkins around campus or via our online form.

Pitch-please! Marketing Sprint

One problem, one pitch. 48hrs. Enough said.

Working under pressure, to a tight timeline with limited information is something many entrepreneurs face at one time or another. This makes the Marketing Sprint a great place to practice mental endurance as well as marketing and pitching skills that will come in handy for running your own venture, nailing thay presentation assignment, or even landing a job after you graduate.

There will be pitches, and there will be prizes!

Build-A-Burger Competition

Get out of the box and innovate a burger like no other.

Win a spot on the Bacon Brothers menu and dinner for you and 10 mates—just by building a burger. Seriously.

Sponsored by our long-time partners Bacon Brothers, the Build-A-Burger Competition encourages out of the box thinking as members try to develop the most innovative and unique burger to delight the judges.

Morning Club - Members Only

Held twice per term

Share and discuss ideas with our network of changemakers and venture founders.

Join other Entre members as well as sponsors and supporters for an informal morning catch-up to discuss ideas, ask pressing questions, and meet other like-minded thinkers. And at the very least, it’s a good breakfast.

Launch Night - 20th Birthday Bash

▶ Tickets: Free for members, $5 for non-members

Once Upon a Brand with Plato Creative

Thursday 2nd May Plato Creative

Get inspired with a brand building workshop from Plato Creative. A hands-on branding workshop that will introduce you to some of the practical and strategic elements of building a brand with impact. This is your opportunity to start developing the marketing and communications skills you’ll need for Enterprise challenge, but is also a great introduction to branding if you’re looking to start your own venture, or simple be work-ready when you graduate.

Fail Fest

▶ Held: TBC Semester 2

If you look deep enough at any great success story, a theme starts to emerge. What do Steve Jobs, Ernest Shackleton, and Sara Blakely all have in common? They weren’t afraid to fail.

Held on campus, Fail Fest is a low-stakes opportunity to give it a go and fail-while trying. Not only is learning from failure one of the key skills in Entrepreneurship, it’s a skill for life.

There will be prizes, but what if failing was the only way to win?

Birthday Bash

Come and celebrate twenty years with us. At our birthday-themed launch night, we’ll bring together young leaders and entrepreneurs of Ōtautahi, past, present, and future. Connect with other members, see what past challenge winners have been up to, and meet our key sponsors. There will be cake!
